At CFI, in collaboration with Rye Therapies of OT, PT, and Speech www.RyeTherapies.com, we treat the full range of speech, language, and sensory issues:

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SERVICES

Occupational therapists (OT's) look at the unique needs of each child and address those needs through activities that facilitate sensory processing, self-regulation, motor planning, body awareness, gross and fine motor skills, visual motor and visual perceptual skills, and graphomotor skills. OTs assist the child to develop foundational skills to develop to the child’s maximum potential. A child’s occupation is play! For older children it is being a student. OT uses therapeutic play and activities that help children improve their independent function physically, emotionally, socially and academically, as well as in their daily activities.

OT services offered at CFI include:

SPEECH THERAPY SERVICES

Speech-language pathologists work with children that have different disorders including: semantic/pragmatic language disorders, auditory processing disorders, fluency disorders/stuttering, voice disorders and articulation disorders. The speech-language pathologist also addresses receptive and expressive language delays, speech and language impairments due to hearing loss, childhood apraxia of speech, communication impairment related to Autism Spectrum Disorders, social skills and pragmatic language impairments.

For older children the speech-language pathologist is able to provide language based tutoring in all subjects and address executive functioning difficulties, helping children develop organizational skills, planning and execution as it relates to language.
